The Scottsdale Development Review Board unanimously recommended approval last month for Streetlights, a proposed 314-unit apartment development on 5.7 acres in the north part of the city.
The proposal by Streetlights Residential to develop the 5.7-acre site is part of the One Scottsdale master plan centered around Scottsdale Road and the Loop 101 freeway.
Streetlights will feature 13-studio, 182 one-bedroom, 108 two-bedroom and 11 three-bedroom units. The residential spaces will be in three-and four-story buildings, and a 5½-story parking garage is also planned. Streetlights is expected to start construction in June.
Representatives of One Scottsdale master developer DMB Associates, Inc. have said the master plan is still 5-10 years from completion. At full buildout, the site is planned for more than 1,180 apartments, 2.8MSF of office and retail, 188 condo units and approximately 400 hotel rooms.
At present, 325KSF of office and 750 multifamily units have been built and a 130-room hotel is under construction.
Having received zoning for the 120-acre site in 2002, with subsequent amendments through 2016, only approvals from the Review Board are needed for projects in One Scottsdale. They do not need to go before the Planning Commission or City Council.
DMB spent $20M in street and infrastructure development before any vertical construction took place on the site. (Source)
