The Tucson Airport Authority is looking for a Design Build firm to help design and construct a new hangar to be located on the north side of Aero Park Boulevard in an industrial area of the Tucson International Airport.
A Request for Qualifications was recently issued by the Tucson Airport Authority in order to obtain design-build services including, “engineering design, design development, construction document services, project management services, equipment procurement, construction services, installation services, electrical connections, testing services, startup, quality control services, and basic warranty maintenance services,” according to the RFQ.
The project is called “Project Luxe”, or “10119248 Luxe” and is planned as an approximately $45M, 100KSF hangar, with demolition of existing facilities and reconstruction of about 120KSF of asphalt pavement.
According to the RFQ, the new hangar, to be located at 1555 E. Aero Park Boulevard, will allow for maintenance, repair and overhaul operations for business jet aircraft.
A pre-submittal conference for the RFQ will be held on Monday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m., at the Tucson Airport Authority Administrative Offices, 7250 S. Tucson Boulevard, on the third floor in the Catalina Room. “At this conference, TAA staff will discuss the scope of services, the proposed date for interviews, the selection process, and respond to questions about the RFQ. The pre-submission conference will also include an opportunity to visit the sites of the proposed services.”
All interested firms should have their statements of qualifications into the Tucson Airport Authority no later than Thursday, March 12th, at 2:00 p.m.
The RFQ states that the TAA has set a seven percent Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal for this contract.
