Abrazo Health has acquired property to develop a medical campus on 27 acres near the SWC of I-10 and Verrado Way. The initial phase of the development is expected to break ground in 2022. Plans for the campus include a medical office building, ambulatory services and an acute care hospital.
Abrazo Health anticipates its new medical campus will be a healthcare anchor for the area and a driver of economic activity. Medical campus construction, staffing and support services for the future medical facilities are projected to add numerous jobs in the West Valley.
Abrazo already serves West Valley residents through its freestanding emergency center at I-10 and Watson Road and Abrazo West Campus, a 216-bed Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center. Rapid growth and development in the area provide the opportunity to complement those existing services with the new campus.
“A new campus in the West Valley will strengthen our ability to provide essential health services. We view this as a long-term commitment to serve current and future residents,” added Abrazo Health Market CEO Brian Elisco.
Several major residential and commercial projects have been announced in the area, which will add thousands of new residents. Proximity to I-10 and Loop 303 make the new Abrazo campus site an ideal location for accessibility for residents of Buckeye, Surprise and Goodyear.
