    Giving Back

    1. The Central Arizona chapter of CCIM is offering two scholarships for classes in 2023 that lead toward getting the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation.

    The 2023 scholarship programs are:

    • The Tim Hatlestad, CCIM Endowed Scholarship, $1,000 value (CI 102, 103 or 104);
    • The David S. Miller, CCIM Endowed Scholarship, $1,000 value (CI 102, 103 or 104).

    Applications should be submitted directly to the individual’s local CCIM chapter. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. Deadline for submission is Nov. 7. Recipients will be notified on or before Dec. 1.

    2. Big-D Companies announced Johnson Carlier, an affiliate of Big-D Construction Corp., has changed its name to Big-D Construction Southwest. The Southwest regional office will be co-led by Sr. VP/Managing Director Carl McFarland and VP Laura Shivers.

    3. Evolve Ventures is celebrating its third anniversary, having successfully evolved to supply the market with unique development ventures in Midtown Phoenix and Chandler. Evolve’s managing principals, Amy Malloy and Heather Personne, combined their almost 50 years of experience to launch the firm. Evolve works with landowners, brokers, developers, investors, tenants and public agencies across all asset classes.

    Promotions

    4. Robert Hughes has been named President at Canyon State Electric Company, Inc.

    5. Graycor Construction Company has promoted Rusty Martin to General Manager of the Southwest Division. Martin will lead Graycor’s Phoenix-based team and work to strategically expand its business in the Southwest, both within the core industrial buildings market and through new adjacent markets.

    6. DLR Group recently named Megan Duffy, Linsey Graff, Terry Wohlgenant and Amy Clark as Principals in the firm.

    7. Jason Adams has been promoted to Principal at DAVIS.

    8. Ryan Ferguson has been promoted to VP Project Executive of McCarthy Building Companies’ Mission Critical group.

    9. Hunter Contracting Co. announced it has promoted Senior Project Managers Adam Nash Sedgeman and Ian Shantz to the position of Project Sponsor.

    10. Jeanna Garrett has been promoted to President at PRIVIUM.

    New Hires

    11. Concluding an eight-month search, Avondale City Council has chosen Ron Corbin as the new City Manager. Corbin currently serves as Cottonwood City Manager. He will begin his new position in November.

    12. John Allen has been hired as Jokake Construction Services’ Project Executive for the commercial market sector.

    13. Kristina Remon has joined Colliers in Arizona as a Senior Associate with the retail properties group.

    14. Mae M. Innabi has joined the corporate and real estate department at Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, P.L.C.’s Phoenix office.

    15. Harvard Investments recently announced six new hires as part of the firm’s ongoing expansion. The new team members and their positions are:

    • Debbie Williams, Director of Accounting;
    • Amy Weidman, Director of Entitlements for the Harvard Communities division;
    • Jamie Allison, Corporate Controller;
    • Robert Trujillo, VP of Harvard FirstStreet;
    • Michelle Kim, Manager of Accounting for the Estrella master planned community, and
    • Heizy Castro, Staff Accountant
