    Giving Back

    1. The Rosendin Foundation sponsored a free construction camp for 16 middle school students at its regional office in Tempe. From June 19-23, TRF Camp Build aimed to empower students to experience the excitement of hands-on building and gain new insights into the construction industry. The free camp offered attending 7th-9th graders hands-on experience using power tools, building their own lamps and engaging in roofing and framing activities. The camp culminated in the construction of doghouses, which were then donated to a local non-profit.

    2. The Arizona Builders Alliance is accepting donations for its annual ABA Backpack Drive through July 12. Every year, the ABA Community Service Board partners with suppliers and area service organizations to provide backpacks and school supplies to students in need. This year’s donations will go to support RISE Services, Children First Academy and Arizona Baptist Children’s Services Tucson. Donations of supplies may be dropped off at TDI Industries, 1888 E. Broadway Road, Tempe, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monetary donations can be made here.

    Awards & Accolades

    3. The Arizona Chapter of the American Public Works Association announced Jeffrey Kramer has been awarded Life Membership for having achieved Continuous Membership for 30 Years.

    4. NAIOP has selected VanTrust Real Estate, LLC as its 2023 Developer of the Year – the association’s highest honor. The award will be presented during NAIOP’s CRE. Converge conference in Seattle in October.

    5. Speedie & Associates, LLC announced that Geotechnical Project Manager Daniel Stratulat has graduated from the Leadership in Engineering Administration Program (LEAP) presented by The American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona.

    6. Speedie & Associates, LLC announced that Jack Stransky, an engineer based in Speedie’s Phoenix office, has recently obtained his professional engineering license. Jack holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University and has been with Speedie since 2019.

    7. The Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority and Valley Metro Rail Boards of Directors have elected officers for the Fiscal Year 2024 term of July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

    Company News

    8. Prominent Arizona brokers Rommie Mojahed and Andy Kroot have partnered to open CRE8 Commercial Real Estate. The new brokerage is headquartered off 41st Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix.

    9. NexMetro Communities has named Helaine Levy to its Board of Directors.

    10. Earthworks Environmental has upgraded its proprietary environmental management software program ERX, which earlier this year led to the formation of a new company, ERX Industries. The updated version of ERX offers several new features, including the ability on maps to draw lines, polygons, and points on inspection reports to show deficiencies in projects. The map automatically zooms to the site’s latitudes and longitudes with the ability to use the current location to mark the deficiency.

    Promotions

    11.  Speedie & Associates, LLC announced the promotion of Nicholas Vitale from Staff Engineer to Project Manager. He joined the company as a staff engineer in 2018.

    12. Nikolas Rieser has joined Kidder Mathews’ Valuation Advisory Services in Phoenix as a Senior VP.
