    Giving Back

    1. SRP, along with utility companies from 10 states across the U.S., are volunteering in a collaborative effort known as “Light Up Navajo.” The American Public Power Association and Navajo Tribal Utility Authority are organizers of the eight-week volunteer humanitarian effort. The goal is to electrify 300 homes during that time.

    2. David Krumwiede, senior executive VP for Lincoln Property Company, has been named NAIOP Arizona’s 2021 Award of Excellence recipient. The award will be presented at the Best of NAIOP awards ceremony on June 9th at the Arizona Biltmore.

    Company News

    4. Valley real estate and industrial development veteran Sean Cummings has launched his own industrial development and investment company known as Sun Industrial Partners. The company is looking for potential sites in Arizona and Colorado.

    5. Construction and project management company AE Solutions LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a debt of less than $7.5M to at least 50 creditors, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. AE Solutions’ difficulties stemmed from complications arising from supply chain and labor issues. The company experienced more than $2M in cost increases in an eight-month period.

    6. Lōkahi Traffic Engineering celebrated a grand opening for its new office location on April 7th.

    Promotions

    7. Underground construction firm Specialized Services Co. has promoted 30-year company veteran Arvid Veidmark III as President. He replaces Marcia Veidmark in the role, who will now serve as CEO and Chairman of the Board, having previously served as President for more than 21 years.

    8. PCL Construction, Inc. has promoted Richard Hewett as district manager for its Civil Infrastructure Division.

    New Hires

    9. The City of Eloy has hired David Malewitz as City Manager. Malewitz had been serving as Acting City Manager since the retirement of former City Manager Harvey Krauss.

    10. Stream Realty Partners has hired Rusty Kennedy as Managing Director for its Phoenix office.

    11. Derek Iannelli has joined SRG Residential as VP of Business Development in the company’s multifamily property management division.

    12. Concord General Contracting has added five new employees. Kolton Day and Ryan Beaver recently joined the Mesa office and began work as Project Engineers. Project Manager Dan Bump and Superintendent AJ Beamer have also joined the team working in the Tucson office. Sonny Lancaster will join the Concord team as the new Preconstruction Manager in Tucson.
