Awards & Accolades
1. Phoenix Sky Harbor has been recognized for its strong commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Airports Council International – North America recently presented this year’s Environmental Achievement Award in the Innovation Category to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for the newly opened Eighth Concourse in Terminal 4. The Eighth Concourse was developed with a focus on reducing environmental impacts from the early planning stages throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
Progress Reports
2. Lucid Motors’ expansion plans – both those under construction and those still in planning – continue to progress in Casa Grande. Sr. VP of Operations Steven David recently presented an update to the Greater Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce and explained the company’s vision to expand its model count and bring more portions of its development and operations in house. At buildout, Lucid’s footprint will have expanded from its initial 800KSF to approximately 2.8MSF.
Completions
3. Greenlight Communities announced construction is nearly complete at the 336-unit Cabana Bullard attainable multifamily development in Goodyear.
4. The Arizona Department of Transportation has finished work and opened a new traffic interchange at Lindsay Road along the Loop 202 Santan Freeway, part of a $21.7M project. Work also included construction of a new westbound Loop 202 frontage road between Lindsay and Gilbert roads. The project stemmed from a partnership between ADOT, the Town of Gilbert, the Maricopa Association of Governments and the Federal Highway Administration.
5. Boeing Company has completed the new 150KSF advanced composite fabrication center on its Mesa complex.
6. The 292-unit Benedictine Apartments is wrapping up finishing touches. The development is a combination of new construction and the adaptive reuse of structures from the former Benedictine Monastery on Country Club Road in Tucson.
7. Willmeng Construction has completed work on The Xeriscape Demonstration Garden – a 2.5-acre City of Surprise project highlighting low-water-use plants compatible with the Sonoran Desert.
8. A $4M renovation project at The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale is nearly complete and will be unveiled to the public next month.
