Progress Reports
1. W. Silver Recycling announced the development of the $5M expansion of its Tucson facility at 3440 E. 36th St. should be ready to open within the next 45 days. The full expansion over five years will add 25 jobs and a capital investment of $5M, with an economic impact of $26M. The project is being developed in partnership with Sun Corridor Inc., Pima County, City of Tucson and PICOR.
Completions
2. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced the new collector-distributor lanes on I-10 westbound in Tempe have opened, with the eastbound opening later this year. The new lanes are part of the $776M I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
3. Greystar has begun leasing at Sunela, a 274-unit apartment community in Phoenix. The community’s initial apartments are ready for lease, with the remaining units expected to be completed in the fall of 2024. Todd & Associates was the architect. Lawrence Lake Interiors was the interior designer.
4. Child Crisis Arizona announced an open house to celebrate the completion of the Center for Child & Family Wellness, a 38KSF wellness center in Mesa.
5. Family Housing Resources announced it has completed the rehabilitation of Talavera Apartments, a 96-unit low-income housing community in Tucson. The project was financed and supported by Arizona Department of Housing, Hunt Capital Partners, City of Tucson, Gorman Architectural, Gorman General Contractors, Gorman Property Management, Pima County Community & Workforce Development, California Bank & Trust and Tucson Electric Power.
