Groundbreakings
1. Montezuma Heights Investors, LLC announced it will host a groundbreaking for Montezuma Heights, the new $41M, 144-unit multifamily development on Bagby Drive in Prescott on July 13th. The expected completion date is 20 months from the groundbreaking. MEB Management will be the manager and leasing agent.
2. Construction of a Class A, multi-tenant medical office building is underway at One Scottsdale. Ryan Companies US, Inc. is developing, designing and building One Scottsdale Medical at Scottsdale Road and Thompson Peak Parkway. The two-story 101,136-rentable-SF building is 80% preleased with two national health systems, City of Hope and Exalt Health, as the anchor tenants. The remaining 20KSF is available for lease on the ground floor for additional medical tenants.
Progress Reports
3. W.E. O’Neil topped out 55 Resort at McCormick Ranch in late June, officially marking the midpoint of the construction project. The 102-unit, 55+ multifamily property is slated to open in the spring of 2024 and features an on-site dog wash and both casual and private dining supported by a commercial kitchen.
Completions
4. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced completion of a new I-17 regional drainage system designed to reduce the risk of stormwater flooding in underpasses between Peoria Avenue and Greenway Road in Phoenix. ADOT managed construction of the $38M project on behalf of the Maricopa Association of Governments. Crews installed new pipelines for the gravity-controlled system and built large stormwater retention basins near Thunderbird Road and also removed outdated pump stations near lower-lying underpasses carrying Peoria Avenue and Cactus, Thunderbird and Greenway roads beneath I-17.
5. A ribbon-cutting was held June 14 for Basha’s Support Center, a new corporate office and hub for Basha’s five brands of grocery stores in Arizona and New Mexico.
6. The Comite de Bienestar recently held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the completion of Valley View Apartments, an 86-unit low- and moderate-income community in San Luis. The $25M project was funded, in part, using federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.
7. Danson Construction completed construction on the Chino Valley Police Department. Town officials held a grand opening celebration on June 22. Ground up construction of the new two-story, 16KSF police facility included concrete, masonry, steel framing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, site utility and drainage work.
