Improvements to Green Road in Maricopa that will provide access to planned developments and further the goal of a bypass route for John Wayne Parkway should begin in one-to-two years and then take one-to-two years to complete.
The key component in the Green Road improvements is a second overpass at the Union Pacific railroad tracks.
As planned, the overpass will have three lanes in each direction. City officials said the project cost has not been determined, but developer impact fees will pay for the overpass and other planned improvements.
The Green Road project is one component of a larger plan to create a “ring road” around Maricopa. Green Road will ultimately tie into SR 347 on the north side of the city and McDavid Road in the south. (Source)
