The City of Tempe Development Review Commission has given its OK to a proposal that will bring a new 110-room, five-story hotel to a vacant 2.8-acre lot on Priest Drive near the Broadway Curve of Interstate 10.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fountainhead Corporate Park will rise to 65’ in height and encompass 62KSF. The one-building hotel will primarily front Priest Drive, while the rear of the building will be oriented along Fiesta Drive with an outdoor patio, swimming pool and spa on that side.

The hotel will also include a conference room, one private office and parking for 112 vehicles and six bicycles. Storm water retention will be accomplished through underground storage beneath parking areas.

The proposed design for the hotel is contemporary to fit in with existing structures in Fountainhead Corporate Park. Exterior materials and colors are determined by Marriott standards, but the design will also incorporate colored masonry and tinted zinc metal siding consistent with the park’s look and feel.

No project timeline or GC information was provided with the submittal.
