Old Town Scottsdale’s waterfront will soon get a mixed-use development, pending approval of a submittal to the city’s Development Review Board for a new project, called On the Waterfront.

To be constructed on a 17KSF parcel, which fronts the canal along Scottsdale Road just south of Camelback, the building would include: a ground floor restaurant of 4,469SF with a 1,526SF patio; a second floor bar of 3,730SF with a 1,587SF patio; a third floor residence of 3,369SF with a 472SF patio; a fourth floor penthouse residence of 3,369SF with a 1,000SF patio; and a single-level, underground parking structure.

Total interior space is 14,937SF with 4,585SF of patio space. With more than 3,000SF of outdoor space included in the site plan, the project will include shade structures along the Scottsdale Road frontage, as well as solar shading for the restaurant and bar patios.

The project will employ a contemporary urban theme, with elements reflecting its location on the northern edge of Old Town. Building stepbacks, elements moving horizontally and vertically, and varied floor plans create a unique design for the mixed-use structure.

The mix of standalone restaurant and bar with canal views, large patios and outdoor shaded spaces will create a day-and-night attraction for an already popular dining and shopping destination.

No timeline for groundbreaking has been set.
