P.B. Bell Companies and Gilbane Development Company hope to start construction before the end of the year on a 210-unit multifamily complex on South Dobson Road south of West Queen Creek road in Chandler.
Earlier this month city planning staff recommended conditional approval for a zoning change from condominium to traditional multifamily.
The complex, known as Arista at Ocotillo, will feature two four-story buildings adjacent to the on-site lake, four three-story units and carriage units along the site perimeter.
The plan calls for 115 one-bedroom, 87 two-bedroom and eight three-bedroom units. The four-story buildings have an upstairs mezzanine overlooking the lake area and Downtown Ocotillo, resulting in a 57-foot building height.
Architecture for the building reflects the Santa Barbara style common to other developments in the Ocotillo area. The design includes a number of covered and arched walkways, arched windows and tile detail. White features heavily in the color scheme, with tan accents and red tile roofing.
The landscape plan makes heavy use of trees around the perimeter including a variety of different palms as well as cathedral oak and olive. Other plants include bougainvillea, cat’s claw, lantana and sage.
