The City of Peoria’s Planning and Zoning Commission this week approved a developer’s plan to transform an undeveloped 15.47-acre parcel into a unique multifamily development.

Located at the SEC of Olive and 83rd avenues, The Bungalows on Olive project will bring a 153-unit community comprised of 50 attached one-bedroom apartments and 103 detached two- and three-bedroom apartments. All units are single-story. The design concept combines elements of a single-family residential development with the perks and conveniences of an apartment complex.

Among the communal amenities proposed are:

  • A 60’ long pool with Ramada and BBQs
  • Jacuzzi with Ramada
  • Open turf area with benches, dog wash and BBQs
  • Ramada with BBQ and picnic tables
  • Interior walkways and courtyards

In addition to on-site amenities, the property will be connected to the neighboring Pioneer Park by two gated pedestrian accesses points. Vehicle access to the community is also gated, with access from Olive Avenue and a second entry off of 83rd.

No timeline was identified for the project.
