New Hires/Promotions
John Emerson is the new system integrator and Pel Abbott is the new vice president of marketing at Sun Valley Solar Solutions. Emerson comes to the sales department from a similar position at Summerwind Solar. Abbott joins the firm from Savage Fine Home Builders.
Matt Westmoreland is celebrating a promotion to director of operations at C3 Construction from his previous post of senior project manager and Pete Stahura is promoted to project manager role from his prior position of site manager. Jim Kelly joins C3 as the new site manager. Rachelle Ciulla comes on board as the Office Manager and Brian Shockey joins as business development account executive
Ron Stone brings his skill to the operational and financial analysis of healthcare-related engagements for Resolute Commercial Services as the new senior managing director. He has more than two decades experience in capital structure and new business start-ups.
Ann Bohlke joins MODE Real Estate Management Services as its new senior property manager. She previously managed commercial property for CB Richard Ellis’ Bank of America and Washington Mutual Bank portfolios.
 AME Southwest adds Tiffany Lauchlan as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the company.
Moving On
Himanshu Patel, Florence town manager for nearly ten years announced he will be resigning at the end of the year. Patel joined the Pinal County town in 2001 as a management assistant. The town’s finance director, Rebecca Guilin also plans to retire early in 2013. Patel has not announced future plans. The recruitment process will not begin until after the new council is seated in June.
Awards/Notable Mentions
Centerline Mechanical LLC, Cave Creek, is a finalist for the Department of Defense Freedom Award. One of 30 businesses selected from a pool of 3,200 nominees, the honor recognizes employers for outstanding support of team members in the National Guard and Reserve.
URS Corp. received special recognition from APS for its design and engineering work at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station and Four Corners Power Plant. One of six APS vendors recognized for service to the company’s supply chain, URS Corp. was the only A/C/E firm in the group.
Women high up in the A/E/C field were featured in a Who’s Who in Business feature from AZCentral. Marcella Gilbert-Peralta (Okland Construction), Carolina Lobo (Orcott Winslow Architecture) and Pieretta Tierney (Taylor-Morrison Homes) were among those featured. The Arizona Republic’s website joins the list of media with lists adding its “Who’s Who in Business†to the fray:
