- The Arizona Republic has released its list of Top 25 Designers influencing Arizona.
2. Sara Yehia of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini is now a licensed architect, having passed all her required board exams.
3. Camelot Homes and Robson Communities were named the 2018 Builders of the Year (Grand Award) at the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona’s recent MAME Awards (Major Achievements in Merchandising Excellence) ceremony. In addition to the Grand Award, Camelot received nine other honors at the ceremony. This is the third time Camelot Homes has won the Grand Award. Previously, Camelot Homes has won the Small Volume Builder of the Year Award five times.

5. Associated Builders and Contractors and the U.S. Veterans Business Alliance recently signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on expanding the participation of veteran and disabled veteran businesses in the merit shop construction industry.

6. Mortenson Construction recently announced three new staff promotions. Bill Hedge is now a Construction Executive, Ankur Singhal is a Project Manager, and Madhur Soam is a Field Engineer with the firm.

7. Emilio Gonzalez has joined Wood’s Phoenix office as a senior mechanical engineer providing mechanical and plumbing engineering services as a member of the Building/Facilities practice.
8. Maureen Varela recently joined hardison/downey Construction, Inc. as the firm’s senior marketing manager.
9. The City of Buckeye recently appointed former El Mirage Interim City Manager James Shano as its assistant city manager. His first day was Monday, April 2.
10. Colliers International in Greater Phoenix recently welcomed three new hires. Bonnie Halley and Brian Gleason have joined as senior VPs, and Melissa Marks has signed on as an associate.
11. Katie Isebrands recently hired on at Mortenson Construction as marketing manager.
12. Caliente Construction announced the hiring of a VP of operations and a director of retail services. Steve McKendry, VP of operations, will be an integral part of Caliente’s day-to-day operations focusing on the company’s growth while providing leadership and direction. Chris Cruthis will manage the operations and expansion of Caliente’s national retail business.
13. James Campbell has joined Kitchell CEM as a project director to lead the company’s Civil/Infrastructure division.
