Developer Wood Partners has proposed a 230-unit, 4-story apartment complex south of Camelback on three combined parcels between 7th Street and 8th Place in Phoenix.

The project, named Alta Camelback, joins more than a dozen either proposed or underway in the immediate area. Located half a mile from the Central Avenue & Camelback light rail station, the intent is to add to the pedestrian-oriented, mixed use theme that has become the standard for the sector, which includes commercial shopping and restaurants, offices, apartments, condominiums and single-family homes.

Alta Camelback will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging from 686-1,747SF. Planned amenities include a resort-style pool, a fitness/clubhouse center and a dog run. The 7,500SF fitness and clubhouse area will also house the development’s leasing office.

An on-site, internalized parking garage will provide approximately 338 spaces, up to 40 of which will be unreserved for use by visitors and guests. An additional 10 surface spaces will be provided for visitors and prospective tenants. A maximum of 30 bicycle parking spaces are also called for under the guidelines.

The building exterior will consist of textured concrete veneer and articulated stucco in a range of coordinated area-specific colors. The site will feature a tree-lined perimeter with a mix of shrubbery and ground-cover plants for accent.

Sustainability elements for the complex will include high efficiency mechanical equipment and water heaters, energy efficient appliances, dual glazed windows and a high-reflectivity roof.
