Under the staff recommendations under consideration, the city would:
- Build a second road to the trailhead in order to keep park visitors off the road used by residents of Echo Canyon Estates.
- Construct a roundabout on McDonald Drive at the entrance to the park.
- Expand the number of regular parking spaces to 128.
The improvements are estimated at $2.1 million and, if approved by the Phoenix City Council, would be funded by the city’s Parks Capital Improvement Program.
