The office building that has dominated the northwest corner of Scottsdale and Camelback roads at Fashion Square for 25 years is getting a makeover.

Earlier this month, Scottsdale’s Design Review Board approved plans for the 158SF, five-level building’s renovation. The work will revise the building’s relatively dated Post Modern appearance and incorporate, “A more lean, simple and sophisticated appearance that addresses current times,” according to the planning documents.

All of the building’s painted surfaces will be colored off-white. The existing granite panels will stay in place after a thorough cleaning and receive repairs and new contrasting materials as needed. The current teal-colored aluminum window frames will be painted a dark brown.

The courtyard space to the northwest of the property will be remade into a landscaped multi-use space with shade trees, canopies, seating area and a mix of hardscapes. Lighting will be updated both inside and out with energy efficient LED fixtures.
