The Hampton Inn hotel at 10101 N. Scottsdale Road will gain a net total of 20 rooms under an expansion and update plan proposed by owner ZMC Hotels. The hotel currently offers 130 guest rooms.
Under the proposal, the site’s easternmost building would be removed and the north and south wings reconfigured. Sixty-nine of the current rooms would be preserved and 81 new rooms added for a net gain of 20 rooms, or 150 total.
According to ZMC, the plan is to close the hotel in April and reopen the following February. In all, the redevelopment proposal expects to generate a $10M investment for the area.
In addition to adding rooms, other planned renovations include shifting the facility’s drop off point, enhancing the entry, improving signage and upgrading amenities like the pool and common area.
Visually, the redesign calls for eliminating the tile mansard roof and replacing it with a more contemporary design as well as simplifying the exterior elevations for a sharper visual appeal. The interior will offer new open spaces with modern finishes and lighting to enhance visual appeal and functionality.
Portions of the existing landscaping will be retained but will be enhanced with a combination of new low use desert plants and some lush vegetation to accent the completed redesign. Much of the landscaping redesign will be directed toward establishing a resort-style feel for the common amenities areas.
