In another small-lot infill project, Synectic Design, Inc. (AZBEX, Jan. 22) has submitted plans to the City of Scottsdale for a two-building, 11-unit condominium development on two parcels just north of 73rd Street and Camelback in Scottsdale.
Located at 7302 and 7308 E. Minnezona Ave., the Mz2 development will consist of five one-bedroom and six two-bedroom units ranging from 1187-1906SF. Each home will feature an enclosed one- or two-car garage. The project is similar in size and scope (and will share the look and feel) of the completed Mz1 complex located to the south across Minnezona.
According to documents submitted to the city, the units are planned to be competitive with other condos and townhomes in the area but will feature several green building and technology products, such as solar panels, energy management controls and electric vehicle charging stations.
The project page on Synectic’s website references home automation functionality that will be developed in conjunction with Arizona Public Service to accommodate “smart grid” technology as it becomes available.
To promote the design goal of enhanced walkability in the area, which is close to the W Hotel, Scottsdale Fashion Square and Old Town, Mz2 will include new sidewalks around the perimeter of the site as part of a streetscape intended to ultimately connect with the surrounding area.
The exteriors of the buildings will be standard grey concrete masonry and off-white stucco accented with ceramic tile plates. Garage doors will be grey tone, and metal accents such as window trim will be in a bronze finish. On-site amenities will include a common courtyard area between the two buildings and a pool.
