A federal defense spending bill includes provisions for a land exchange in Arizona for a proposed, and stalled, copper mine east of Phoenix.

The proposed land swap would trade 5,300 acres Resolution Copper already owns for 2,400 acres of land on top of copper deposits in Superior.

Resolution wants to mine those deposits but needs the federal approval for the project to move forward.

It has been stalled and embroiled in controversy for years.

Land swap language is in a massive Pentagon spending bill Congress is currently considering.
