New life is being breathed into a stalled townhome project, which could well signal that the area’s beleaguered real estate industry is recovering.
A newly formed Hall Brothers entity, Yuma’s Sunset Mountain Construction LLC, has purchased the Sunset Mountain Villas property and plans to pursue an aggressive schedule of selling and developing more than 200 remaining lots in the townhome project at Avenue 9E and North Frontage Road.
Sales of the lots are expected to start this week, said Michael Hall, broker for ERA Matt Fischer Realtor, which handles the sale of homes built by Hall Brothers.
The townhome project was undertaken in 2007 by New Sun Homes as Sunset Mountain Villas AZ LLC and approximately 50 townhomes were built. A trustee deed for the property was recorded in January 2010 from Sunset Mountain Villas AZ LLC to First Community Bank, according to the Yuma County Assessor’s Office.
There are still 221 units left to build. Starting price will be as low as $99,900, with the price to go up each week.
While the plans for the new homes will be different from the existing homes, they will look similar on the exterior for a homogenized neighborhood.
