November APA/ASLA Networking Event @ Valley Metro Office - First Floor Lobby!!!
Nov 1 @ 7:15 am – 8:30 am

We can feel Fall in the air in Phoenix and perfect weather bragging rights is on the horizon. Given that, we’re doing a Special Wednesday, November 1st Networking Event to enjoy all the things we love about the outdoors. Our organizations focus on creating more walkable and enjoyable experiences in our communities and this month provides a great opportunity.

We are honored to have Brian Fellows, a Senior Transportation Planner with AMEC Foster Wheeler, conduct an abbreviated walkability tour. His areas of expertise include school transportation safety, sustainable transportation, mobility/accessibility/ADA, sustainable communities, and quantitative assessment of the health effects of the built environment. Brian is passionate about pedestrian and bicycle safety as reflected in his commitment in biking or walking to work four days a week.

This unique Walkability Tour experience will give an overview of what makes our urban environment not just ADA compliant, but creates a setting where we want to travel. We can create social connections while providing a healthier overall community. Brian will bring his insight, methodology, and best practices in this interactive experience.

Normally we would meet in the Valley Metro Conference Room but this time we will be meeting in the first floor lobby and beginning the physical walk at 7:30 sharp. Please wear walking shoes and we intend to complete this tour by our usual 8:30. Hopefully you can join us and we look forward to seeing all of you there.

Bisnow is thrilled to announce the 4th Annual Phoenix State of the Market, where we’ll be taking an in-depth look into real estate trends, market predictions, the influence of sports on the urban culture and what’s next for Arizona’s capital city. We’ve gathered Phoenix’s top names in sports & commercial real estate to give an all-encompassing update on where Phoenix is now and where it will be tomorrow.

With millions of dollars in the pipeline, major investments from both local and national developers and several disruptions in technology and real estate, this year’s State of the Market is not to be missed. As always, there will be plenty of time to network with Phoenix’s top professionals in commercial real estate. We’ll look forward to seeing you there!

American Cancer Society’s 2017 Big Dig in the Desert @ Eastmark Great Park, Mesa
Nov 4 all-day

The Big Dig gives local Phoenix children, including those with cancer, the opportunity to attend and operate heavy machinery, including back-hoes, diggers, excavators and much more.

Sponsors and ticketholders will be “hard hats” for the day operating heavy construction equipment in the beautiful Arizona desert at The Eastmark Great Park.  More than 1200 big and little construction wanna-be’s are expected to attend this unique fundraiser in support of pediatric cancer research!

Last year, cancers youngest patients, survivors, their families, and the community came out to Eastmark Great Park in Mesa to operate heavy machinery at the American Cancer Society’s inaugural Big Dig. For just a few hours, they got to be kids and forget about cancer. It was an inspiring event that hosted over 1,000 people and raised nearly $150,000 for the American Cancer Society!

We hope to see you there this year!
