Mark Wilhelm, MEP, CEM, CRM, LEED-AP:O+M

Energy & Climate Change Consultant at Quest Energy Group

Mark is a Sustainability and Climate Change Consultant for Quest Energy Group. He previously served as the corporate sustainability leader for Ameresco and led the Climate Neutrality Alliance with Arizona State University (ASU) which will drive the university to climate neutrality by 2035 with a positive NPV. Mark and his team leverage this experience and an integrated, whole-systems approach to develop and implement customized Climate Neutrality Roadmaps for clients who are committed to significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Mark has over thirty years of experience in the energy industry, including twenty years in sustainable building design and operations. Prior to Quest and Ameresco, Mark founded Green Ideas, Inc. where he provided high-performance building consulting to owners and design teams for over 38 million square feet of built space. He directed LEED certification efforts for 80 projects, two-thirds of which earned either Gold- or Platinum-level certification. He has provided sustainability consulting to many Fortune 500 companies, government entities, and education clients.

Mark managed over $16 million of collaborative R&D in energy efficient building technologies for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and served as EPRI’s e-Business Strategic Alliance Manager. He also held many leadership roles at Arizona Public Service Company.

Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a professional Master’s degree in environmental planning from Arizona State University. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM), and a LEED Accredited Professional, Operations and Maintenance (LEED AP O+M).

Last May Mark was honored as a 2017 Top 50 Energy Manager for North America by Business Sector Media’s Energy Manager Today Magazine.
