A private developer plans to build a 60KSF medical office building on vacant land in a commercial/medical neighborhood along Thunderbird Road less than a mile from Sun City.
Irgens announced the project Feb. 25 slated for a vacant 8.6-acre parcel on the southeast corner of 91st Avenue and Thunderbird Road for Cigna Medical Group. The site is a half mile west of Loop 101.
The two-story, Class A medical-office building will feature a new urgent care center, doctors’ offices, seniors’ activities area and a community garden.
Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in June 2015 with a grand opening slated for November 2016.
Bo Larsen, a spokesman for the City of Peoria, said the location is significant, since it involves filling in an area surrounded by development.
Irgens is the developer and owner and will oversee all day-to-day operations, development, leasing, and financing of the project.
