A western-themed restaurant is proposed for the undeveloped corner lot at Bishop Ln. and Goldwater Blvd., near Scottsdale Rd. in Old Town. Bishop Lane Market Diner is designed with an old west façade on a Hacienda-style “U”-shape with an entrée garden courtyard.
Designed by Sixty First Place Architects, the building is setback from the streets behind the low-walled courtyard. It’s sited to maintain views of Camelback Mountain and serves as an infill development in an area of Old Town heavy in parking lots.
The design theme seeks to weave a farm-like exterior with the restaurant’s menu of locally grown and produced food and food products. It’s entrance and layout are pedestrian focused because adequate downtown parking eliminates the need for site-specific vehicular traffic. No onsite parking is proposed.
