Banner Medical Center Planned For Goodyear

By Kristena Hansen for Phoenix Business Journal

Within about a year, the growing number of residents in one of the southwest Valley’s newest communities won’t need to travel roughly 17 miles for basic medical care.

Milwaukee-based developer Irgens is aiming to wrap up construction of a new 18K SF medical facility in the new Estrella by Newland Communities in Goodyear before the end of next year. Banner Health will be the anchor tenant along with several private-practice physicians.

The new complex, dubbed Mountain Ranch Medical Commons, is geared to offer primary care services in conjunction with the Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, which is about 17 miles northeast of the Estrella community. The closest hospital to the Goodyear development is West Valley Hospital, an Abrazo Health Care facility, about 11 miles to the northeast.

The project’s architect is Phoenix-based 33 North Architects and the GC is Ashworth Construction Inc., also based in Phoenix. The project is expected to break ground this fall. The medical building is the first of a two-phase project slated for the 5.3-acre site, said Jason Anzalone, Irgens vice president of development.
