Awards & Accolades
1. The City of Mesa Falcon Field Airport Terminal Upgrades project has recently been selected as the Best Project in the Renovation/Restoration category for the 2016 Engineering News-Record (ENR) Regional Best Projects awards competition for the Southwest region. The project was honored at the ENR Southwest Best Projects Awards Luncheon in Phoenix on Nov. 10.
2. International real estate firm Hines and Cambria Hotels & Suites will host the official groundbreaking of the new Cambria Hotel & Suites Chandler at Chandler Viridian on Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. Set to open in 2017, the 136-room hotel will be located at the NWC of the Loop 101/Loop 202 interchange in the heart of the Price Corridor.
3. Ground was broken Sept. 28 on a new Ernest Health facility. The Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Arizona, located on North Gemini Drive atop McMillan Mesa, is planned to be a 40-bed, 48KSF hospital that will offer services in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy to patients who have suffered strokes, hip fractures, brain injuries and other traumas.
4. The old burned-out First Baptist Church on the NWC of Monroe Street and Third Avenue is being resurrected by former Arizona Attorney General and Phoenix Mayor Terry Goddard. Nearly $2M has been spent on the 100 tons of structural steel to support the fire-damaged walls, and new floors have been poured.
