Wood Partners wants Scottsdale to amend its general plan to swap a 5.7-acre commercial site for a 46 unit-per-acre density planned unit development. The proposed three- and four-story buildings will bring 261 apartments to the former Rural Metro site at Indian School and Granite Reef roads.
Planned as a rental apartment complex, Alta Scottsdale intends to increase rental inventory in an area beset by condo conversions. Alta is to be luxury units in one-, two-, and three-bedroom designs averaging 838 square feet with either a garage under the units or carport adjoining the buildings.
Situated on the northeast quadrant of the intersection, the buildings wrap around a commercial structure on the corner and sit in a modified east-west “U” configuration. Parking sits in the center of the “U” with a pool and outdoor recreation area located along the southern leg of the complex. A small landscape area faces Indian School Rd.
