Rebekah Morris is the Founder and Publisher of AZBEX. She started the company in February, 2010, also referred to as ‘Couldn’t have picked a worse time to start a business’. Starting a company in a prolonged economic downturn, in an industry that was hit harder than most gave her the opportunity to figure things out. The twice-weekly newsletter came first, then events, and now a searchable database, everything Rebekah creates for AZBEX is aimed at helping her clients secure more work.
Outside of AZBEX, Rebekah and her Husband David Turner stay busy with four kids between them, a noisy Labrador named Oliver, and two turtles. She enjoys food, hiking, traveling, gardening (although her green thumb earned in Oregon quickly turned brown moving to AZ) and reading.
Rachel has more than 15 years of industry experience in the Arizona A/E/C industry and more than 7 years’ experience in the publishing world. She strives for quality and perfection and can usually reach an acceptable form of it, because, really, it’s all subjective. But, you can see it in her work ethic and dedication to the company. After all, as the firm’s first employee she helped build AZBEX with the owner from the very beginning.
She expresses her dedication with her expertly crafted graphic design and attention to detail. Rachel has perfected the research systems that make AZBEX able to track all the AZ project solicitations in one eight-hour shift and Co-created a searchable, scalable database for construction projects in AZ.
Before she found her calling at AZBEX she was in the architecture field and obtained a drafting degree from junior college and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from Arizona State University. Rachel worked for several architecture firms in the Valley, which set the foundation for her love for the industry and the structured style of her designs.
Rachel is a mother of two handsome young boys and enjoys gardening and being in nature.
Prior to joining the AZBEX team as sales director, David spent 14 years in professional football working for teams in the NFL, UFL and Arena League.
As sales director, David continues to take a gridiron approach to relationship and business development, setting ambitious goals, identifying opportunities, collaborating with the company’s special teams and driving revenue and opportunities into the end zone.
In addition to his professional contributions, he also is an integral part of the AZBEX personal team. He is married to Publisher Rebekah Morris. Together have four children, two turtles and a golden lab named Oliver.

Roland studied Communications with a Journalism concentration and a minor in history at the University of Toledo (Ohio).
He started out as a reporter in southern Michigan and northern Ohio before discovering business communications (generally) had better hours and (usually) paid better.
Since then he has worked for various organizations, most often in technology and telephony solutions companies, building their communication programs and developing their vertical market efforts.
His work for a couple of different firms targeting AEC got him interested in the industry, which ultimately led him to AZBEX. He joined the team as Senior Correspondent in 2015, left to work a marketing job for a few months, realized he liked AZBEX better and circled back in mid-2016, stepping into the Editor’s role later that year.
Roland was born in Hicksville, Ohio (Yes, it’s a real place.) and left to go to college in Toledo at 17. At 25 he moved to the Valley and has remained ever since.
He’s married to the lovely and talented Nathalie Cadieux, an actor who is also honing her skills as a writer and producer.
Annalise’s positive energy and ability to light up a room is just one of many great things she has brought to AZBEX. As Marketing Coordinator she has elevated the level of quality in graphic design, marketing and communications within the company and has raised the bar in social media communications! She can create a website in record time and can stay on top of countless tasks all at once. A true team player, Annalise is an awesome member of our team.
As a big football fan, Annalise also works as a stage manager for the Arizona Cardinals and has a love for hot sauce, dance, hiking, reading and Harry Potter!
Lya has crafted a methodology to extract information from the internet that is unsurpassed. She is fueled by challenge and finds joy in the process of trial and error. Her technical ability stems from a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Policy and Applied Social Research.
She has also worked in the construction industry researching private construction projects and opportunities for sub-contractors. This foundation has enabled her to be a perfect fit to research construction projects and procurements for AZBEX, as well as help develop a searchable database of AZ construction projects.
In her free time she loves to cross stitch, attend geeky events, re-read Harry Potter books, as well as hang out with her favorite husband and two rambunctious cats.
Tasha came to AZBEX with over four years of experience in the construction and related industries, including private commercial project research. Her drive for learning different aspects of the industry motivated her to take on public project research for the AZBEX database, where she diligently maintains the records with the most accurate and up to date information. Tasha’s previous work experience includes marketing for a construction project cost management software firm and researching at another construction database company. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Arizona State University, which over time, has helped her develop her research and writing skills. Tasha lives in Peoria with her husband and is a proud pet parent to a lovable Labrador Retriever and an exceptionally LARGE gray tabby cat! In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home with a good book, binge watching TV shows, or letting loose at karaoke night!

Kristen’s background is rather diverse. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Photography from Northern Arizona University, a Certificate in Hatha Yoga from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, and a Certificate in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu. She has spent time working in the higher education field, teaching, working in kitchens, conducting cooking demonstrations, as well administrative roles. One thing that has remained constant in all of Kristen’s past experiences is her attention to detail and passion for being organized! Kristen joined the AZBEX team in November of 2016 as Administrator and has loved every minute of it. Her work with AZBEX includes general administrative duties, event planning, and keeping the team organized. When Kristen is not working she enjoys cooking, spinning, and spending time with her family and dogs. Kristen and her husband are expecting their first child in June 2017.
