Dr. John Simon, the radiologist who founded SimonMed Imaging Inc., plans to develop a $30M health campus next to St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center in Glendale.
He said this project at the northwest corner of 99th and Glendale avenues would be the first comprehensive health care campus in Arizona.
While it is located next to a hospital, it won’t be considered a hospital campus, Simon said.
“This is an outpatient campus,” he said, which will include a continuum of care, such as medical office space, surgery centers, long-term care and skilled-nursing facilities.
Architect for the project is Phoenix-based Triarc Architecture & Design LLC, and the construction manager is Mattson Construction LLC, which has worked on various SimonMed projects around the Phoenix area.
The project will be financed by a group of private individual investors, Simon said.
Talbot said physicians and health companies will be able to lease or own buildings or condominiums on the campus.
Simon said he would like to start construction within 12 to 18 months.
